... by We Who Were There

Motorsports are all about speed--speed of the machines, of the people who craft and control them, of advances in ever more complex and powerful technologies.

Advances came especially quick and fast from the Fifties through the Seventies, when world motorsport evolved from art to science at racing speed.

Cars, engines, chassis, vehicle design, materials and manufacturing techniques, tires, aerodynamics, use of computers, design and development tools, commercialism, human factors, track performance--EVERYTHING changed, and kept on changing quickly. Each new season looked different, showing us something fresh and novel almost race by race. How exhilarating it was to watch!

And how lucky were my dad and I, to be there to tell the tales. These are the tales we retell here.

Hi, I'm Pete. Welcome to my memories! Please enjoy browsing these original motor racing photographs made by me or my dad, Ozzie Lyons, as we covered many forms of our favorite sport all across North America and on around the globe to six continents across better than six decades.

Can-Am, Formula 1, Indy, Endurance, Sports Car racing both club and pro, USRRC, Trans-Am, F5000, ALMS, modern vintage and more—these were our special fascinations then, and they still are.

Our PHOTO GALLERIES (open with the HEADER tab above) shows images we offer for sale or licensing. Use the ”Sizes and Prices" pull-down tab to see options and terms. Also check out my BOOKS and CALENDARS.

Our archive spans 60+ years and contains much more than I've posted here, so if you don't see specific people, cars, venues or events of interest, I'll be glad to look through my files for you; see CONTACT tab in header.

Come on in and enjoy our story!
